Miami Market for makers. Handmade heaven

December 2, 2018

This past weekend Miami hosted the Market for makers fare, which yours truly of course didn't fail to attend. I love going to events where you can meet the designers behind the product and hear their stories. The direction where fashion production is heading now, read more on #whomademyclothes, not showing the consumer practically the whole chain of production is unthinkable, especially for beginning designers. And this is exactly what the new generation of conscious designers dealing in sustainable and slow fashion are capitalizing on now, and very successfully.

The fare was hosted in an impressive Moore building, a spacious historic construction located in the heart of the Design District in Miami which is a spectacle on its own.

The four floors were filled with sunlight, beachwear and casual clothes designers and a variety of handmade produce.

Most sellers produce in the communities with the aim to support local artisans who benefit from production in countries like Nigeria, Colombia to name a few.

Sustainable fashion focuses on re-purposing materials, cans, bottles etc.

Figurative earrings. The emoji theme lives and still goes strong

Happy joyful playful bags

Gold's never old

Kerchief earrings, that Vogue USA top accessory of the season

Photo walls! Because bloggers and photo walls get along like a house on fire

I'm leaving here a list of selected designer accounts for your inspiration. Stay cool!
